TUBING

Single inner tubes are available for rent for use on the Root River. Rates are as follows:

Fishing

Trout, bass, walleye and northern pike are caught on local rivers and streams. Some of the fish caught at Cushon’s Peak Campground are a nine pound brown trout, a five pound smallmouth bass, and this 13 year old caught a 21 pound catfish.

Golfing

Several public golf courses are within minutes of Cushon’s Peak Campground including Ferndale and Valley High. Let us help you plan your stay.

Hiking

Miles and miles of hiking areas are available through the woods or by the water. Discover the solitude of nature again.

Biking and roller blading

Direct access is available to Root River Bike Trail - a paved State Trail. This trail is free to use.

Site Seeing and local restaurants

Cushon’s Peak Campground is located within a short drive of many Bluff Country towns including Houston, Rushford, Lanesboro, Winona, LaCrosse, Wisconsin and Decorah, Iowa. All of these areas offer unique shops and eating establishments.
